Not much sign up here in Charlevoix and Emmet counties as far as I can see from this past deer season. I've hunted the areas north of Harbor Springs (Emmet) and land just south of Boyne Mountain (Charlevoix county).

This is the time of year to walk the cedar swamps looking for the evidence of rooting...the white snow makes it easy to see at distance. I keep a close eye out for sign while hunting coyotes.

When we moved to MI in 2007 we were told about the wild hogs. At first I thought they were joking with me until I looked it up online. I never did see any myself but I was told by other people in the area they were there.

Excuse my repeating, please......I had a good sized (200lb'er??) come in to my bait pile back in '07 when bow hunting. Glad I was 14' up. I did not wait until complete darkness to walk out that night. A few weeks later there were two other sightings of different hogs reported to the supervisor of the township. That's when I knew that they are here to stay. By the way, these hogs were not nocturnal.
