Default Best city in Michigan to work as a medical assistant?

I will be a graduate from Career Quest in the future as a Registered Medical Assistant. Does any one know towns that hire this type of a medical person? Thank you
I would really like to move to the Cadillac area.

I personally think Midland, MI is one of the best places to work in the medical field. They are currently expanding their hospital and from what I heard they will be looking for more medical professionals. I spoke to a doctor last week and they said Midland is hiring alot of people right now and they have good benefits. Not many places are hiring in MI so that's why many are transferring to Midland. They get more hours without worries of being cut.

I've heard that Ann Arbor has a very good reputation also.

Good luck in your search. Have a wonderful day!

At one time being in the medical profession in Michigan was a great thing, today however I would disagree. I am an RN and due to "budget cuts" nursing positions are being eliminated and medical facilities do not seem to be hiring those individuals who retire/quit. I would look for a position on the east side (Detroit)of the state versus the west.

I don't know of a city that ISN'T hiring medical assistants. To find one you'd have to find some dot on the map too small to have a doctor's office or access to a hospital. Of course, there will be a lot more of those jobs near the cities with large medical centers, like Lansing, Detroit and Ann Arbor.

30% of RNs in Michiogan are at or near retirement age. There will be e huge need for medical people at many levels over the next 20 years or so...

Definitely not in Lansing. My fiance graduated last may with her MA and never used it, seeing as she couldn't find a job here to save her life.
