Default Old house (1840) in Birmingham

This lovely old house (except for the ugly orange shutters) is located at the corner of Addams and 15 Mile. Does anyone know the history of this house? Is it lived in, or just maintained by the City of Birmingham. Do they give tours?

I tried Birmingham's website, but couldn't find a thing on the house.

Thank you.

Wow! Thanks so much for that info! It's the Hall Farmhouse. It's obscured by trees in the old photo, but it's definitely the same house. What a beauty!
