Default East Lansing Apartments

Hello board -

I will be moving to East Lansing late this summer/earlier this fall for grad school at MSU.

I'm surprised, for the Midwest, at how expensive 1 BR apartments are. I guess I don't really care about living "too close" to the university (doctoral student in education here...plan to drive), but I don't want to live in a town that's 30 minutes away.

Where are there decent apts (not roach infested or falling apart) where I could get a 1 BR for $500 or less?

You're looking in the wrong town - try Lansing's east side.

There are some apartment communities that cater to students. Rent is a little high, but includes a lot of ammenities such as cable, internet, pool, clubhouse, electric, water, and heat. Add those up together and it makes up the difference in most cases.

Good luck!
