I filed 3 weeks ago, got the booklet, posted my resume at the job bank, got a letter with a user name and password but still have gotten nothing in the way of benefits. I was denied my claim , from what I can tell is two reasons. One I left a job (was told I was going to be layed off) and two I made an error when I applied online. So now I'm in the middle of a protesting and it could take up to 6 weeks to get an answer. This is just great !!

Wow, I was told that it was really hard to get benefits if you quit a job. Good luck!

I really didn't word my statement correctly. Back in August I was told I would be laid off sometime soon. So I scrambled to find another job.. before I was laid off. I did find another job before I got laid off. I moved on to that one. Then was laid off about 3 weeks ago. So I didn't quit and become unemployed. I was actually laid off.

It sounds though, like you didn't get enough time in on the second job. I hate to say this, but I think while it sounds like you were trying to do the right thing, it may come back to bite you.

I filed online almost 3 weeks ago and haven't had a determination yet. I saw no place online where you give them any kind of a statement. I just checked the lack of work buttons. I thought it only mattered what your last employer said.

Probably from the State where you were employed in . I don't believe the State of Michigan penalizes a person from moving from one job to another . I believe they will combine or go to your last job even though you left for another job possibly if it was continous . you need to call the help line 1-866-500-0017 keep trying if the line is busy . I had a minor problem when filing mine and it was taken care of . Sometimes speaking to a real person vs a computer is easier. Personally I would go direct deposit vs a debit card as after the first 2 debit card transactions they(bank) starts adding transactions fee's . So if you've moved out of State you can still call Marvin and get a direct deposit in your bank back here and still use you banks card hmmmmmm lol problem solved

Your unemployement comes from the state in which you separated from your employer. In your case, that is Az. good luck

You do not transfer anything, you just go where you want to and call MARVIN from your cell phone and your check gets deposited in your bank account. My wife was drawing unemployment a couple of years ago, and she would call that automated system and press the righ buttons and in a couple of days there was a check in the account. We traveled all over the south that winter drawing unemployment checks while vagabonding all over southern state parks. When I used to do it we would have to stand in line throw our ID card in a pile and wait till we were called to answer the dumb "did you look for work , were you available for work, did you turn down any work, read that last part with a high idiot voice of a brain dead state worker. I wasted gas and time going to the Gaylord unemployment office. Now it is as easy as making a 1 min. phone call and it is automated so no 12 IQ person on the other end. It was great. The state of Michigan paid us 12 grand that winter to roam the south "looking for work" I would love to do it again.

State unemployed close to benefit extension
Jobless workers are one step away from having benefits extended seven weeks after the Michigan House and Senate passed identical bills to claim federal stimulus money. The bills need Gov. Jennifer Granholm's signature. The money will come from the 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and will bring to 79 the maximum number of weeks jobless can claim for unemployment. About 213,829 Michigan workers are expected to qualify.
