Ann Arbor's nice. They've built a casino on 94 in Battle Creek. Heard they hiring soon, if not already started.

Grand Rapids as slim as that is could very well be the best choice. Ann Arbor if not for the fact school is in and most of the jobs you mentioned are taken by UM students...another possibility..again remote..is Traverse City. Not many people think of it but it seems to be holding its own and has some nice restaurants...
MAYBE the casinos in Mt. Pleasant??

Michigan and job opportunities are not fitting well right now for many employment fields.
Traverse City is doing ok, but I don't think the job market has improved since I left in Sept. There were very few jobs then.

Michigan is tough all over, but the Bay City area is one of the worst. I live in the general area and know many people who have a hard time finding work regardless of what field they work in or whether or not they have a college degree. You might have better luck in Grand Rapids as others have said, or maybe Ann Arbor (but Ann Arbor is considerably more expensive).
