Since when are weather forecasts accurate ten days in advance? This is Michigan, you aren't guaranteed free from snow until May; June in the U.P. I've had snowstorms on my birthday in late April before.
Old Man Winter is just trying to lull you into complacency.

I'm assuming you haven't seen many Michigan winters...

 Exactly.
It's going to feel like Spring when it hits 60 today. Then I'd say we'll probably get 3 to 4 more snowfalls before it's all said and done.

I have seen the leaves out in the end of April and still get a foot dump. I used to call my friend in the town in Louisiana where they filmed steel magnolias, they were in shorts since late February and I was watching snow fall in April. Auggg. I am not a fan of the cold white stuff. when I visit as I did last month and the complain that 40 is cold, I tell them that is a nice July day in Michigan. They shutter and say Hellll no.

Wait a minute. Even many Southerners will tell you the weather in Louisiana is dreadful. There's a reason it never really caught on as a retiree destination.
If they're in shorts in February, you can imagine how hot it is by May.

Nothing like a lot of exaggeration there huh?
Average highs for my area (LUdington) in July are 79-81 and the lows average 54-60. Maybe you are thinking the UP then? Nope, can't be there either. Marquette for July has average highs of 72-77 and average lows of 55-60.
40 is NOT a nice July day anyplace in Michigan. Maybe a nice March day, but not July.

I have received very little snow in my area so far this month. Compared with January this month has felt quite mild.
The GFS computer model predicts that this warm period will last a few more days before seasonal winter temperatures return. The jet stream seems to have shifted further south so the storminess next week should also mainly stay to the south.

there is almost always a warm up for a week in February. I remember one year when it got up to around 70 for about three or four days and then it was 12 the next day. Sping is just teasing you for now.

I remember that week. It was 14 or 15 years ago and killed alomist every rosebush in Livingston County.
My cats say differently, though. They know spring is coming; they're shedding like mad.

Just got a call from Midland County Road Commission. The frost law go on in the AM. Most counties will do the same.
