It's socio-economic, not racial. The fact that a majority of our impoverished communities are populated by black people is not a correlation to "black people have a greater propensity for violence".

Spend some time in the Irish-Catholic neighborhoods of South Boston - same exact dynamic... or in South America...or in the Phillipines...

However, in America, African-Americans are roughly 12% of the general population...

yet over 90% of the population incarcerated for violent crime happens to be African-American...

an amazing statistic...and where I lived in Jefferson City Missouri, it did not appear to be disproportionate - my next door neighbor got jumped and severely beaten, his car stolen...right in front of our apartment building....this was two weeks after I was jumped right in front of our apartment building...I had my ipod stolen out of my car...another next door neighbor had his apartment broken into.

I moved, to a "less colorful" part of town, and those problems didn't exist...

If you add up all the petty crimes commited by blacks in America....they will never match the amount of monies stole by Micheal Madoff and his Ponzi scheme. Both blacks and whites commit crimes....one uses the means of the weak and one uses the means of the powerfull. They just represent different means to the same end. One thing for sure.....the trillions in lost wealth and capitlization, retirement funds, home equity and the like....which is robbing Americans......is not the work of black people. In other words.....you might be able to run and hide from black street crime......but you will not be able to run and hide from the impace of white Wall Street criminals, Bankers, CEOS and the like....dressed in suits and ties.
