Default holland high schools

hi, we are interested in moving to the holland area. i am doing a little research and i am curious about how the town is divided and which school you attend. I want my boys to go the school with the strongest athletics program. Which school is this and what neighborhoods/zip codes should we focus on for homes? Also, we are only interested in public schools. thank you!

Quietmum - Holland is wonderful - good choice

Since, athletic programs are a priority for you, reading the sports section in Holland Sentinel (online) daily would be a good start.
They do a very good job of covering the school sports scene.
Are you thinking about moving to the *area* or within the city limits of Holland?
That also makes a big difference.

don't forget either, Michigan has "School of Choice". It isn't like most of the Country where you HAVE to live in a particular district for your children to attend school there.

The two traditional public high schools are Holland High School and West Ottawa High School. Both have tremendous athletic programs, although West Ottawa has been blessed with growth and more financial ability over the past 20 years.

They are in different divisions now, since Holland public schools have lost enrollment in the past decades.

I 2nd the idea of reading the local papers to get a flavor for each school.
