Go North at Newberry, take a left at fourmile corner, then a right at eightmile corner which which is back going North. Go through Pine Stump Junction and it will take you right to Muskellunge Lake. (no I am NOT making those names up either)

There is Hulbert Lake which has some good fishing.
Brevoort Lake is not too far from the Bridge and has some decent fishing as well.
Millecoquin Lake has some good fishing. Shallow so watch your depth.

"best" lake in the UP? Man how many fishermen are you going to ask . We all have a favorite or ten. It all depends on where the bite is on. If you are going to take a few days in the area, check out a couple of different lakes. Ask at local places where the fish are doing anything and change plans as needed.

Fletchers pond sounds like my kind of fishing. My buddy and I took a trip to Reel Foot Lake in TN... sounds like a similar lake.

Can we all agree that Fletchers pond is probably one of the top fishing locations in the UP?

If not what makes the others so special?

I stream fish for Brook Trout, so I am no help.....although me and my hubby hope to get a small boat here in the next year or two so we can hit the lakes!

fletchers pond is not even in the UP. Its near Mio.
And no it sucks, nothing but hammer handle pike, and small bass. Its a very high pressure fishery.

I'd say Bond Falls Flowage, Lac Vieux Desert, Michigamme res., Pike, and Portage would be my top 5.

Geez people give this guy good info. Can't even get the locations in the right geographical region.

No one said it was in the U.P, and no it does not suck. I would imagine if its a great spot to fish, it will be high pressure. 9,000 acres is a pretty big lake and its easy to find spots all to yourself. If you know how and where to look, you will catch some big ones.
