Best lake to fish is Gogebic. I sat and ran 3 lines on a dock and could not keep up with the walleye. The Rootceller is a great place to stay, and you are only about 40 miles from the Paulding lights.

40" plus pike are taken every year from there. But I wouldn't send someone there. Especially in a boat. If you dont' know the lake you're gonna tear up your lower unit on a stump.

Okay let me give you all some details on this fishing trip...
1) My fishing buddy and I are looking for monster pike and a lot of them. Large pike are the prime fish we want to catch.
2) We also want to catch a lot bass.
3) My friend has a old 12 foot boat. We have been to reelfoot lake (TN). We are not afraid of shallow water with stumps and trees. WE JUST WANT GOOD FISHING : )
4) We will need some type of lodging.
What is the BEST lake in Northern MI OR Upper Pennisula?

Prickett dam near Baraga has some great fishing.More of a summer location. They have camping and a boat launch. Frozen over now though. And I think bass season is closed now anyway. But check with the DNR website to be sure.

Well I think for starters there are probably some Michigan Fish forum where you'll get more specific info.
But I have a lake book that says Indian lake in the UP is good for pike. Seems like from reading the book the UP is all about walleye.

I am from cheboygan so all i know is how fantastic ALL of the lakes and waterways are around Cheboygan for fishing...you have the longest inland waterway in the state as well as the straits of mackinac......but here is a cool site to check out, it tells you the fish that can be caught in each lake or waterway in MI I love recommending this site!
Made In Michigan Official Michigan Fishing Guide - Fish Reports - Lake Maps - Tackle Tips - Michigan Interactive
I love Mullett Lake, Black lake, black river, etc

There are no lakes in the UP, fishing is a waste of time because there are no fish either.
Nothing to see here, move along
