UP Fishing question...
Does anyone know some good lakes to fish for pike and bass in the UP? My buddy and I want to make a trip up there for a few days and we are looking for some hot spots. Any thoughts?

Just about any lake up there is pretty good. What area of the UP are you thinking?

Anything north of St. Ignace, west of Drummand Island or east of Ironwood should suit you pretty well.

Im going to muskallonge lake for a week in the summer. Its suppose to have pretty good fishing for pike and bass. The lake is big, but not real deep which favors the pike fishing I would think.

I love Muskellunge Lake. Stayed in that area a couple of times and really like it.

I have heard nothing but good things about it. We are staying at the state park for a week. Can't go wrong... Muskellunge lake on one side Lake Superior on the other!

Plus they have a boat ramp right at the State park there if you are bringing your boat. I have stayed there before and really liked it. It was very quiet when we were there.

I cannot even locate Muskellunge Lake on a map.
What is the BEST lake in the UP in your opinion?

I would also very highly recommend taking a day or half a day on the way to the U.P, to stop at Fletchers Pond. If you are not familiar, it is an incredible pike and bass lake! Its 9,000 acres of flooded land filled with weeds and stumps. I was there many years ago and caught big pike left and right all 30" or bigger. If you ask me, there may not be a better lake in Michigan suited to the growing of such huge pike and bass as Fletchers.. There are some real nice bass! We saw and heard some monsters! I have been dreaming of going back there! You need a boat, and cant go fast because of all the stumps and trees. There are no speedboats, jetskis or anything going fast.
