Question Attn: Pontiac residents, specifically Seminole Hills

I am currently living in Royal Oak, but must move soon. I've been looking for a low priced, good condition house in neighboring areas, and some of the cheapest and actually best looking ones I have seen are in the Seminole Hills area of Pontiac, which I have heard is one of the only decent spots in the city. I've been in the neighborhood a few times and it looks pretty good to me, but is it worth moving there? I know Pontiac isn't doing so well, especially lately, and my boyfriend is worried that the crappiness of the rest of Pontiac will soon bleed over to Seminole Hills and we will never be able to re-sell. So, what do you think? Is it safe? Should I keep pursuing or move on to somewhere else?

I grew up there. From what I saw, the most trouble in the neighborhood came right before and after school hours since kids from other neighborhoods would be walking through to the middle school. Now that the school is closed, that probably doesn't happen any more. There were also always a bunch of punks around at Halloween. Other than that, everything was fine. I ran around and rode bikes with my friends and only got harrassed a couple of times by people from outside the area.

However, I haven't lived there in a long time, so someone else may have a better feel for how things are now.

I am a resident of 5 years, live on Cherokee,,,,,,do not regret leaving Beverly Hills. The community is warm and wonderful. The city can be annoying, but the neighborhood is a gem. Somehow, the major problems of the city escape this neighborhood. I would recommend it highly.
