Default We love Holland!

Granted, we don't have children in school but, if we did, it wouldn't have changed our opinion.
We could have moved anywhere and we chose the Holland area.

Deslok, drop the Dutch stuff would ya'.
We're both far from Dutch and have made more friends here and met more friendly people in less than a year than we did after more than 10 years in Iowa.
Besides, we like the Dutch flavor of the area, it's all part of the charm.

Grand Haven is a little higher priced real estate wise, imo.
We were able to buy a home in Park Township within walking distance of the beach on almost an acre for less than anything we saw in Grand Haven on a little piece of city sized lot.

Never been to Iowa so I wouldn't know the comparison. Will not "drop" the dutch stuff as it has been my experience, especially working in industries in Holland/Grand Haven, that if you aren't dutch it is sometimes an uphill battle. Good for you if you haven't had any problems and made a bunch of friends. It seems as though the Western Michigan side of the forum is perfectly happy to turn a blind eye to any critical aspects to the area. I think it scares some folks away that like objectivity to where they might live or work.
This is an old forum besides and shouldn't have been revised.
