I think we should all be able to have a small part in a movie! Make some money, that will help the economy and I promise I will spend my share wisely! I would buy a house, buy a car, and shop at all the little mom and pop stores throughout Michigan. Maybe then I could afford the $60.00 it costs me to take my family to the movies once a year! I can not believe it. Even us very poor people are still making the rich....richer!

Ever see the show 'Extras' with Ricky Gervais? It's hysterical, about he and a friend who are extras in movies. Not shot in Michigan, but funny anyway!

yeah, just wishful thinking! I was in dream land for a moment. What was I thinking.
Movies made in michigan....Not sure of the year, might of been early 80's "the Carrier" was made in Manchester Michigan. About 20 miles south of me, my parents took me up there during the shooting and they were asking for extras. It was about some disease spreading throughout the town, and the bridge was washed out so no one could leave.

The movie was great and I was fortunate enough to see the live version at the Gem theater downtown. Didn't he do a part II ?

Oh my goodness! All of this talk about movies in Michigan and not one word about "Somewhere in Time" with Jane Seymour and the late Chrsitopher Reeves which was filmed on Mackinac Island at the Grand Hotel. They actually allowed cars on the island for filming...

Oh! My mistake, yes... yes, you did! I thought it was a cool movie... a little hokey, but romantic. Sure has quite the groupie following with some of the tourists on the ol' island... I worked there for a summer...
