Cool Paw Paw

Hi ,
I am originally from Mt.Clemens and I left in 1978. I have been living in Florida since thern and I believe Florida is getting too built up and too expensive for me. I visited a friend in Lawrence recently and fell in love with the area. I am looking and thinking of moving to Paw Paw or thereabouts. Anyone have any info about the area for me ????? I am a simple country girl at heart with a child ....elementary school age. I also teach at Head Start.....
thanks in advance !
ps I am worried about the winter spring....snow, mud.... it has been a long time !!!!!!

We have relatives living in Lawton, just south of Paw Paw. Also we have relatives living in Mattawan, east of Paw Paw. Mattawan schools are pretty good compared to others inthe area. Nice quiet areas. There's 4 seasons here in Michigan.

If you are considering locating here full time, you should look into Kalamazoo Public schools, and look into Kalamazoo Promise. It's a program that will pay for any graduates of KPS to attend any college in Michigan for free. Don't know much of the details.

Default As far as the free college thing goes...

I'm almost certain that you have to attend school in the K-zoo area for 12 years of education to qualify. And, it is only for Michigan Schools. There are other stipulations too...

Default Wow

Hey There!

I moved from Michigan in 1982. I now live in Interlachen, Florida. Where in Florida do you live? Yes, I want to go back to Michigan also, Saginaw is where I was born, but geeze, I miss the real dirt under my feet, the real trees, the seasons, and most of all the Michigan people!!! You are very lucky to be able to move back to Michigan!!! I am not a Florida person, never will be, cannot stand the sand, bugs, heat and humidity!!!

Default Moving to Paw Paw, Michigan?

I am new to this site so I don't know if my response is too late for you.

Paw Paw is a small feel town, Lawton is even smaller but both are nice and very country. Paw Paw is Exit 60 off of 94.

I live in Portage which is Exit 76. I'm partial to Portage but think that Kalamazoo would be more appealing if you are planning on children going to college. Kalamazoo Promise pays for college (amount varies for how long live/own property in Kalamazoo).
