OK , I stand corrected , Charter, it is, and thats who I have been talking to ( call center). Yes , I think the center is lacking also. I got a call yesterday from a guy who said , " I am here to wire your house, Where are you?". I said " What house? , Its not built yet !" All I wanted was to have the cable put in the same trench as the power cable"!. He was nice , but confused....... " I could just drop off the cable, I guess". I said " Ok , thats what AT&T said also".
When he got to the site, and saw , the run was around 900 feet, he said the wire he had would not work , and that was the end of the call. So , I am not sure what is going on. I will PM you more specifics. Thanks for the help, small world..........

Yep - my husband and I use Charter for both HDTV and Hi-speed internet. In fact I think they have a new plan where you can include phone service. We invested in the Moxi box too (same idea as TIVO) Really great for people on the run. You can sit down together Sunday night and see all of your favorite shows when you actually have time to sit for a minute! I think I know the 8 acre piece you're talking about near the ski hill. My husband and I are also in Sands Township just over the township line in Harvey. Welcome to our neck of the woods!

I have lived in Marquette for over 5 years now year-round. I can't think of a time I have heard snowmobile noise in Marquette. I did notice a consistent buzz of distant motors in Big Bay recently, but I actually thought it was soothing in a way.

Also, Someone posted about Marquette locals being "unfriendly" to those who move in and build. I can't speak for sure on that issue but I think Marquette is by far one of the MOST hospitable and friendly towns I have ever been to/lived in, and I moved here from the Deep South (where so called "Southern Hospitality" is said to thrive).

And, I noticed one mention of KI Sawyer. From what I have heard about that area, I would build away from that. I noticed another forum about crime in Marquette and I believe when people speak of crime much of it happens in the KI Sawyer area.

I absolutely HATE the winter, and the cold, and the snow...but I honestly couldn't think of a better town to live in.

Just about the only reason to go to KI Sawyer would be to get on a Jet , taking you to the outside....for a little break, and , for you to appreciate even more what you left when you return.
