well see I plan on making some trips to canada and would like a open shot for the way. so someplace that would let me do this is what I want. and from what I've been looking at (just maps) seems the east coast would have that option.

So you are talking the Detroit area or around Sarnia. Other than that it is the same East or West side. Cross the Bridge and go through the Soo. The bridge is right in the middle East to West so it is a wash if you plan on going to Canada to the North.
