Thank you for all the feedback submitted regarding our move to the Jackson area. We found a house we really liked in the town of Leslie. But had some negative feedback. We were told that Leslie was having a problem keeping business' in the downtown and felt Leslie was a town on the downturn. They said that there were also problems at the "Leslie Estates" and at times at the neighboring food pantry. Does anybody have any knowledge of this or was this guy misinformed? We have no way of knowing if this guy lived in town that gave us the information, it was said over a gas pump. Thanks.

I grew up not far from Leslie, on a lake. Like many quaint small communities in Michigan It has no strong hold as far as employment is concerned. There is a decent new high school which is rare for the area. Like most of the mid Michigan area you will find it tough to have someone say a area is "a great place to live" without shaming the fact they have a 8% unemployment rate and high drug trafficking. Not good news, but better than someone telling you a lie.
