Lightbulb What's going to become of the old Wixom Ford Plant?

Does anyone have any idea what the old Ford Wixom Plant (which has been shut down for nearly a year now) will become of once Ford decides to sell it? I heard of movie studios, sports complex, etc, but none of the discussion seems to materialize. Anyone have an idea, and when something may happen?

Sitting empty and decaying for the next 10 years? Hard to say. The old McLouth Steel Mills has been sitting empty for many years. They started trying to recycle the building materials, but something went wrong with that. Now it just sits. Great location for certain movie scenes maybe. My son wants to turn it into a gian paintball war games venue.

If you look at how HUGE that place is there are only a few things that can be done with it. Another car plant, or a movie studio are pretty much the only things that I can imagine being there. Some other kind of large manufacturing facility. Hell, maybe Toyota will buy it.

I had read MGM studio's had an interest in it, but never heard anything more.

The future of the Wixom plant? Imagine a forest of weeds growing in the parking lot...

What to do with the Ford Wixom Plant?

I know how about start making the Ford GT again in it, that was the coolest car that Ford had ever built!! Why did they have to shut it down anyway? Ford could have easily built the Lincoln MKZ/Mercury Milan/Ford Fusion there instead of moving all of those operations to Mexico.

I heard from a friend of mine you still works as a security guard there that Ford DOES NOT plan on selling the plant anytime soon, so maybe Ford is just waiting for Michigan to give them some big incentives to move back in and begin operations again.
