Swine Flu is the flu. It does nto have any special symptoms. People die from it. People also die from the flu. IN fact something like 36,000 people die each year from the Flu.
The panic about Swine flu is that it does not respond to normal drugs. Thus, it cannot be stopped. You just have to survive it. From what I understand, other than this, it is no different than any other flu.
The wierd thing is that every time someone gets the flu, they are suddently in the news. "Somoene in XXX has the Flu! Ohh My! Maybe it is swine flu! - - - Oh wait it was just ordinary flu, false alarm."
Panicing over this fllu is pointless. You will either get it or not. If you are weak, it may kill you. Or a regular flu might kill you, or a cold, or pnumonia, or any other of a nuber of illensses that are dangerous to vulnerable people. This is a strange panic

My son who has type 1 diabetes had strain A of the flu this year. ( you know the one they warn ya to get a shot for). He was never in any life threatening condition and is 8. I'm no expert but from my understanding you don't just get it and fall over dead from it. I think in most cases you have to go untreated, have a pre existing condition or suffer from some kind of immunity illness. Like the baby in Texas, it was an infant. Good chance they missed diagnosed the virus or maybe handled it wrong not knowing what strain of the flu it was. Another thing, it had to have had contact correct? It's not air born. The baby had to have picked it up somewhere on it's hands, maybe a bottle mom let drop on the ground, or something and then right back into the mouth. Point is that it could have been prevented in more ways than one.

Yes, it's totally bizarre. They have now closed two schools here tomorrow because of kids having the flu, and they're not taking any chances until they're confirmed NOT to be Swine Flu.

my little theory on vaccines is that the more they try to vaccinate against flu, the more strains will crop up. remember the good old days of just regular old 'flu'? now there's a billion types and they keep trying to make (profit from....cough) vaccines, so what does the virus do? mutate into another strain. but hey, our sickness makes THEM wealthy, and that's what the united states of greed is about. ok i'm going off on a tangent. anyhoo two of my friends have had their children vaccinated for 'flu' and both their kids have had flu TWICE this year.

I sort of want to contract swine flu just so my immune system can kick its ass.

What flu ever responded to normal drugs? All you can do is go to bed, drink tea and take garlic or goldenseal.

Vaccinations.
Also there are some new drugs that supposedly combat or weaken flu virus.
I agree.

"I asked my wife yesterday. If every strain of Flu originates from ( PIGS) and this is such a global threat.....why not GET RID OF THE PIGS?!!!! I sign on today and Egypt ordered the slaughtering of EVERY PIG in Egypt and there has not been 1 reported case of swine flu in the entire country. Personally I can live without ham or bacon, and I'm sorry next to Rat's and Possums I think the pig is the dirtiest damn animal in world. Any animal that baths in it mud from it's own **** and crap can't be very useful for anything."
I'm not worried about the pigs. Sure, they are animals that wallow in mud because they have no natural defense mechanism to protect themselves from overheating and getting scorched by the sun, but they are animals.
I worry about the PEOPLE that live like pigs. The ones that let their pets releave themselves in the house and never clean it up, the ones that live with roaches, and the ones that don't take care of themself - rotted out teeth, poor hygene, and just overall "nasty." These people do exist.
