Default Novi Downtown?

Does Novi, MI have a downtown? I'm moving out to work in Wixom and am looking for a community with an area with bars and younger people etc.

THere is a meat market type bar between Novi and Northville on Novi Road (if it is still there). It is called Goat something. There was another place in Northville, a couple in Farmington/Hills. If you want much of that type of thing, you need to go to Ann Arbor.

Not a typical "downtown" with small quaint shops, etc but there is definitely an area that attracts younger crowd at the Post, Second City with Gus O'Connors right by is fun. I'm not from Novi but it is bustling around Main Street/Grand River/Novi Rd area on pretty much any given nights. LOTS of restaurants with lively bar areas.

I don't think there is anything in Novi I would consider a downtown. Milford is about 20 minutes away, they have a pretty cool little downtown. Or Royal Oak if ya like the freaks. LOL Sorry but there are some wild people out there. Brighton is a bit further, all freeway to Wixom. They have a really nice downtown.

Funny that you ask this question, actually Novi DOES have a downtown and a Main Street. It's just not a "real" one from the 1800's, like Milford's or Northville's.

As others have said Novi's downtown is located where the Gus O'Conners Irish Pub is. It is south-east of Grand River Ave and Novi Road. They developed the first phase of it around 1996 or so and have been slowly adding on to it over the years.

The problem with Novi's downtown is it has got WAY to much competition around it to really thrive. There are other plaza's and strip malls, including the mall (Twelve Oaks) that compete big time with it, so really it not a "real" downtown.

If you are looking for real quaint downtowns look into Northvile (just south of Novi), Milford, Brighton.
