Season started ALREADY????
Driving through town today I noticed license plates from:
North Carolina,
South Carolina,
Tennessee,
Arkansas,
Florida,
Texas,
California,
Alaska,
Massachusetts,
North Dakota,
Wisconsin,
Minnesota,
New Mexico,
Colorado,
Idaho,
Virginia,
West Virginia,
and a couple others I didn't recognize right off the bat.
Holy cow a few nice days and they start to show up in droves already. Usually I don't see this many out of State license plates until AFTER Memorial Day. Maybe the ads the State is running all over the place are actually doing some good this soon. I would hope they are in one way, but I miss my quiet little town for most of the Summer with all the extra traffic and people. I like to see them come every year, but am glad to see them leave every Fall as well.
Every time an out of State plate cuts me off, or stops in the middle of the road for a photo of a Dump Duck (Seagull) I just smile and remind myself that they probably saved all year to vacation where I live. They get to enjoy my area for a week or two when it is busy and hectic, and I get to enjoy it year round. Those of us who live in higher tourist areas should remember how lucky we really are. Outside of work, we get to live a LOT of peoples vacation dreams and memories every single day.

Out of State Plates returning Ex-Michiganders?
More likely folks coming back to visit relatives or pick up something they left?
I will be up in June to get the rest of our stuff..

Either way. Come on up, spend your money and then head back to wherever. Not everybody with out of State plates are those who left the State, that is a bit of a narrow view.

I have out of state plates (CA) becuase I moved here from there, and just went back to get my car recently. No point in paying to re-register here, when my CA registration is still valid. I will change the plates when they expire. Just being frugal.

I think Bydand's in Charlevoix, not Holland. That is a bit surprising, although it has started getting pretty hot already in the South and they might be escaping the heat. My IL's are in Arizona and it's already 105+ down there.
Maybe they're all out of school and work due to Swine Flu.

I'm actually in the Ludington area. Town was hopping again today as well. 70 sure would be a lot better than 105. Holy Cow, that isn't fit for human habitation if it is that hot already. I can just imagine what it will be in August.

Well, it will be down to 96 on Sunday. Remember, it's a dry heat. (so is a pizza oven)

Bydand, Our kids were counting the different plates as we were in Traverse, and then we realized, we use to be one of those..lol and NOW...we are one of Michigans...Such an awesome feeling. And your right, we get to live here, which is such a blessing to my family.
