I know crazy huh? The opened a new Sec of state in my little town of Highland. I went there yesterday to renew my tabs. I went in and this place was HUGE and nice. Took a look around not too busy, 6 people in front of me. Then I noticed a sign that said something about their 24 hour tab renewal in now open. I was like Huh? I walked around trying to figure out what or where it was. Did not see anything. Then I noticed some guy walk in the door with his registration in his hand and he stopped in the lobby did something for a minute and walked out. WITH TABS IN HIS HAND. I went and peeked out the window and I had walked right by this machine. Went out and low and behold it was a tab renewal machine. I stuck in my bank card swiped my bar code and a minute later I was walking out the door. Sweeeeeeeeeeeet.

Compared to what they were like years ago, they have come a LONG way! I wonder if they are going to install those machines at all locations eventually? That would be such a time saver (Not that any visit has taken more than 20 minutes as it is now.)

The one they opened in Wixom a year or two ago was like that too. Until people realized it was there, it's insane now.

I remember all too well the nightmare at the Secretary of State's in Michigan. Glad to see that they're getting their act together. Last time I was in one of those places, they wouldn't take a debit card.

I do ours on line here in AZ.

Convenient.

Check it out:

I don't have to renew my driver's license here until 2025.

Is MI still every eight years?

The Secretary of State is 1000 times better here than it is in Virginia where you might have to wait three hours at a packed office to register a vehicle.

I LOVE the new machines too. Unfortunately, last year, I didn't notice and waited until my number was called only to be told to go get my tabs from the machine. This year, I won't wait.

Well in years past I did my tabs and license on line when I could. But this year money was too tight and we had to wait until we had the money for it. Nothing beats the online service.
