Default Land Contract Foreclosure Question

Hello All,

A friend of mine recently sold a house in Adrian, MI via land contract. If the person he sold the house to stops paying their monthly payment, how long will it take to evict the person that bought the house and for my friend to recover the house?

Is there a state and/or county law that governs this? Or is it Land Contract specific - i.e. the wording of the Land Contract determines how long it takes to get the non-paying buyer out of the house?

Thanks!

There is a binding contract between the two parties hence "land contract", there in lies the answer. What does that document stipulate? Otherwise it's going to be like any rental negociation similar to a month to month rental.
