Default Bay City, MI area...

My husband and I are going to be attending a wedding in Bay City the second weekend in June. We will need to stay overnight because it is about a 5 hour drive from our home in Indiana.

Is there any decent hotels/motels to stay at in this area? My sister-in-law said something about staying in Saginaw, but I don't know if I want to stay in Saginaw. Anything closer to the Bay City area?

We don't need a 5 star place to stay. Just somewhere clean, decent priced to stay overnight.

Any suggestions or ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

No problem there are plenty of hotels and Motels in Bay City. We have a new Bouble Tree hotel right down town and a Holiday right across the street from it and a half a dozen motels on M-13 that are very nice places to stay.

The Double Tree is admitedly fantastic. Holiday Inn is a little run down, but ok. There's a Fairfield Inn on the other side of the river (by the mall), which is fine and probably cheaper. There's an AmericInn just north of Bay City right off the x-way that's nice too. Do NOT stay in Saginaw. Not worth it, and still 15-20 min from bay city. Probably more expensive to stay there too, and scarier!
