Default Traveling to West Michigan soon?
Next weekend are a couple of great events to check out in West Michigan. The Local First Street Party is on June 13th, from 4 - Midnight in downtown Grand Rapids (near the arena entertainment district). They had 10,000 people at this event last year. Before that on the same day, you can head over to Grand Haven and check out the Art Festival and the beaches (when it's not wall-to-wall people like the Coast Guard Festival).

Manistee is a nice smaller community of about 6500. Nice small hospital right there, couple of marinas, decent shopping but nothing too spectacular. Touristy in the summers, quiet in the winters. Heavy Polish population so brush up on your "ski" names, some can be quite interesting to pronounce.

Come on over and have a look around. Lots of nice small communities all along the Lake.
