Default If you have an interest in trains

Come on over to my neck of the woods July 23-26
The Pere Marquette 2-8-4 Steam Locomotive No.1225, as seen in the movie Polar Express, which resides in Owosso, will be in action. Very cool!
Should be a lot of fun, and a good chance to get some great train pictures!

Train Festival 2009 - July 23-26, 2009 Owosso, Michigan

Smile Wow!

Is this an annual event? If so, we'll plan next year's vacation accordingly.

Going to miss the event by two weeks this year, unfortunately. But at least we'll go by the museum in Owosso. I'll have to find their website and check the hours.

Default Very nice!

Yes, a worker/volunteer was putting the finishing touches on when we toured the museum last Friday. Sure wish we could be around for the festivities!

Maybe next time, if I hear about it in advance.

And this baby will be coming to Michigan Saturday July 18th. Classic steam locomotive SP-4449 will travel along the Michigan line through Niles, Kalamazoo, Battle Creek (stopping for service around Noon) where it will switch over to CN tracks through Charlotte and Lansing on its way to Owosso for the Train Fest.

It's so pretty. I may drive down to B.C. and chase it back to Charlotte before going to the CK&S Rail Road festival in Delton (Saturday, 12-5, be there, donate money for a historical marker!!).
