GM squeezing states for retrofit of plant for new small car
In the paper today (a wire report) the GM former Saturn plant (Tennessee) the GM Orion plant and a third location are all being considered for the new plant for the small car which will be coproduced in China and the US. The state that brings the most cash to the table wins! Not tax breaks -- Cash.
THe Govenor of Tennessee is unsure if he wants to play, the state gave GM considerable incentives to build the mid sized GM SUV there.
The odds for Michigan seems to be fairly good, the downside is the people of Michigan will pay for it
