Hubby may have job in Three Rivers... considering changing move
We are considering moving to three rivers now, because hubby may have a job there. our move all depends on him getting work and he just wants to be in Michigan. i want to be with him so somehow we are going to michigan.
What is Three Rivers like? I havent heard great things. Then I have, but not for the new comers to there.
Tell me about this town please.

I used to live in Three Rivers and I LOVED it. I still do! I searched for a job there for over a year, he is very fortunate to have one there.
Three Rivers is a classic hardworking Midwestern small town. We (I still think of TR as my home) have a great downtown with a theater, bars, nightclubs, shops, and second floor apartments. There are plenty of nice, historic homes all around town, especially on the northside. There is a movie theater, a Meijer, a Home Depot, and several stores along US-131. We also have many great outdoor activities, including three rivers (obviously), miles of woodlands surrounding the city, Swiss Valley Ski Area, canoeing/kayaking, hiking, bike trails, and great parks. It is an outdoor paradise. For big city action, Kalamazoo is only 25 miles away and has plenty of great things to do. South Bend isn't far either.
Just typing this post makes me homesick. I love Three Rivers, and I'm sure you will too.

From what I remembered from driving through there, it looked run down to me.. your better off living in Schoolcroft which is not too far from there.

Schoolcraft? Only if you like sprawl and bland subdivisions. Three Rivers is not run down, only some small sections of the south side are run down.

are there parts of town to stay away from? and parts that are loved? i am so excited about just the weather in Michigan, it is over 100 degrees here everyday lately and getting outside is an absolute aweful feeling. I saw someone complain of 89 degree weather there and how hot it was, and I was like wow really. lol . and for the snow i can bundle up and always put on more clothes, there is only so much you can take off in the south and not get arrested lol. plus my family being of redheads and blondes and light light skin color the sun is not our friend lol. i have picked a house in three rivers if it stays on the market til we need it, just hoping i picked a good street and place .
