Default Public lakes or pools in Brighton??

Hi All,

We may be moving to Brighton, and so I was wondering if anyone had any tips for finding good places to swim, outdoors, in the summer time. Swim clubs or lakes? I hear the lakes are quite popular...are there any photos on the Net? I haven't had any luck finding pix...

OK.

I was a Brighton resident for 20+ years; left in '04.

I don't recall any public pools but, you've a slew of lakes to go to.

Kensington Metro Park just east of Brighton off of I-96.

Brighton State Recreation Area. Bishop Lake.

Island Lake State Recreation Area. Just west of Kensington.

Spring Mill Pond, which was called "something else" back when I was in high school.

Have fun.....

There are also a number of lakes with public access sites. I don't know many by name but have driven by their beaches. I'm pretty sure Lake Chumung has a beach right off Grand River. I know Woodland has a public boat launch and that might have a small beach there also. Not too far from Brighton next door in Howell there is Thompson lake with a nice beach. I don't think you'll find a problem with lakes. Not sure about the indoor pools.

There's a small fee involved ifya want to swim at the local high school pools. Of course, they're indoors with limited hours.

Yep.

Lake Chemung had a public beach there the last time I drove by....

However, Woodland Lake does not, just the boat access.

Thompson Lake is quite popular, I forgot about that one.....
