Default Walloon Lake - Water Temperature and Lake

We are staying on Walloon for a few weeks starting this weekend.

Can anyone please provide an update of the water temperature.

This will be our first time on Walloon - last few summers have stayed on Lake Charlevoix. Are there any areas of Walloon we need to avoid while boating (shallow water, stumps, etc)

Be careful. I've heard that swimmers itch is prevalent is just about every inland lake this summer in Northern Michigan except Torch Lake.

I am only familiar with the public beach in Walloon Lake village. It is shallow for a long ways out. I always thought the water was quite clean. I also always thought that it was warmer than Lake Charlevoix, and WAY warmer than Lake Michigan.

But I haven't been swimming this year at all, so can't comment on swimmers itch.
