Hartland-Meijer job fair 8/4-8/6
Meijer officials will hold a job fair beginning Tuesday to hire at least 300 people at the new Hartland Township store.
The company is looking for “customer focused, high-energy individuals who want to work in a fast paced, exciting environment,” said company spokesman Frank Guglielmi.
The company is hiring cashiers, food clerks, general merchandise clerks, night stocking team members and greeters.
The job fair is 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday. On-site interviews will take place at: Hartland Insurance Agency Building, 2532 N. Old U.S. 23, Hartland.
The job fair will last through Thursday.
“A new Meijer generally requires 300 to 350 people,” Guglielmi said. “Starting pay is based on the specific position.”

Never in my wildest dreams would I think that Hartland would get a Meijer.
M-59 is gonna be real rough over there.
At least folks won't have to drive 15 miles to Brighton.

You'd be surprised how smooth that intersection runs YAZ. When they rebuilt that bridge they put in some new kind of light system and the traffic flows really nice. They are expanding the lanes right now getting 59 ready for not only the Meijer but the Wal-Mart opening right across the street. Who woulda thunk?

The new high school is a little further north of there close to what I think is considered the old downtown Hartland. The truck stop was there when my wife and were married 10 years ago. Must have closed about 6 years ago I'd guess. That area has developed so much, there is a Kroger, and a Target right there too. Not to mention the strip mall stores, blockbuster, phone store, banks etc etc.

I could work 8 hours at Meijers and another 8 at Wally World and I MIGHT make $14 an hour and still NO benefits...(Yeah, I m one of those people)....but I would still loose the house and still cannot cash in on the clunker program...BUT it is WORK...gotta love that right-to-be-poor attitude...

My wife was on me to go down there today. I asked her if she was going to pick up extra hours to make up for the money I'll lose going off unemployment? How bad is that? I'd need to make about $12 an hour to pull in what I make right now, and that is already a $4.50 pay cut from the job I'm laid off from. ( sigh)
