Default How long is your commute?

Where do you work and where do you live? Do you have an hour commute or more? Less than 30min?

I'm curious to see the statistics on this. DH and I live near Dryden and commute daily to Auburn Hills. We can carpool but that option will be going away shortly when his job moves out of AH. We are seriously considering moving closer to work, which will save us $500 a month. We don't own a house but like living in the country. Is it worth it? How many here do the long distance commute for country living??

Sounds nice. I have thought about TC a few years ago but I.T. jobs were few and far between back then. Not sure if things have really changed up there or not...

The way the state is going, I think moving closer to work to save alot of $$ is going to be something to seriously consider. I guess I was just curious to see if anyone else drives their life away for a paycheck to live in the country....

I used to commute every day from Muskegon to Grand Rapids. I did it for 1.5 years (2 winters) before deciding to just move to Grand Rapids. I've lived in GR now for 10 years. Now, I am a SAHM and work at home part time too. I'm driving all over town, but not to work!

I live in Ypsi and work in Farmington Hills. It takes just around an hour in the mornings, 45 mins to get home and 35 mins either way on Saturdays.
