Greenville is a neat little town and I recommend the
Danish Festival to anyone.
In the meantime,
Michigan summers are like nowhere else

Gotta Go!
Sweet! We'll be back in 2 weeks for my neice's birthday...heck we are usually there at least once a month.

See you at the Danish Festival!

Love the summers in Michigan: the Lake, green everywhere... also love being able to show people where in Michigan I am from using my hand! Like this: http://www.richrobots.com/GR.html (broken link)

Oh man, where to begin?

- Midland Street bars in Bay City
- vacationing in Traverse City and the surrounding areas
- cherries fresh picked from Mission Penninsula
- Mackinac Island
- weekends at my buddies cottage north of Alpena
- my school campuses (SVSU and Oakland U.)
- all of our sports teams...even the Lions are fun to hate
- Greektown and the surrounding bars like Old Shillaleigh
- visiting my mommy and daddy's home in Saginaw
- Crittenton Hospital....awesome co-workers
- driving on a crisp fall day with the leaves changing, with no particular destination in mind
- the whole UP despite only visiting a couple times briefly
-tip of the thumb along Lake Huron ( Caseville, etc.)
- Lake Michigan in the summer
- diversity
- boating
- watching the 4th of July fireworks in Bay City floating on the Saginaw River
- pretty much all of Oakland County, save Pontiac
- our history
- Dream Cruise
- International Auto Show
- Henry Ford Museum
- visiting old friends in Sterling Heights
- how the state is so regionalized
- good mid-western girls
-fine dining to be found in metro Detroit and all of the mom & pop restaurants in all of the small towns

And just for fun, stuff about Michigan I don't find so pleasant:

- constant road construction, anywhere
- the morning traffic in the Detroit area
- winter seems to be getting longer and colder every year
- economic decline
- most of Flint
- most of the thumb is blah
- my unfamiliarity with most anything on the west side of the state south of Manistee

You are missing out on so much! IMO the best part of the state!!!

You must try a roadtrip west. Check out Ludington, Grand Haven, Holland, Saugatuck (sp), beautiful beaches.

Yup, the west coast is the best part of the state. Second would be the UP. Saugatuck is a little weird, as it is the gay capital of Michigan (or at least west Michigan).

Talking Favorite Things In Mich & Fav Times / Seasons

Alrighty, the Belle Isle Hydroplane Races in summer. The Fireworks Festival in early July. Land of Lakes; Water-Winter-Wonderland" used to be our logo on license plates. The Mackinaw bridge; fudge, Island for Touristas...Then we got The Dream Cruise (motorcity) Woodward Ave. Classic Muscle Cars cruise.
We have the beautiful Fall Harvest time; APPLES galore, smell of the Autumn Leaves turning/burnig; crisp Indian summer days (we had a wonderful Autumn) last season. Not too cold, sunny; lots of harvest; pumpkins, squash, Farmer's Market in Detroit...the Meat packers butchers downtown; Smells of Greektown at night, along with the Canadian Club Whiskey brewery right across the Detroit River in Windsor, Ontario...Now we mix that with the smells of the night air, Casinos, hot music..>MAN OH MAN, WHAT A PlACE...
LOWER PENINSULA MICHIGAN.
Dear season, snow, Houghton Lake fishing; wintertime in the Upper Peninsula. Sleeping Bear Dunes in Copper Harbor michigan...upper most...next best thing to Alaska, seriously!!!
AND OF COURSE: GO TIGERS
