Default cute towns near Kalamazoo?

Might be relocating from cute small historic town in New England. Any hope of finding small towns with charm near Kalamazoo?

Mattawan and Lawton are nice small towns nestled amongst grape vineyards. Gobles is small and Paw Paw is little larger.

Three Rivers is a small town about 25 miles south of Kzoo. It's in St. Joe County in Michigan's Amish country, surrounded by rolling hills and corn fields.

Richland Michigan, with the affluent Gull Lake might compare. Other then that, I feel compared to New England the cities mentioned will give you the creeps.

Marshall is a gorgeous little historic town - a nice place to visit, but you wouldn't want to live there. The residents are very friendly to visitors but extremely clique-ish when it comes to newcomers. Their "hospitality" drove us out of town within 5 yrs.

I don't know that your going to find the same sort of bucolic historical type New England town around Kalamazoo. Totally different history. How far do you want to commute? Grand Haven or Sagatuk might do.

Grand Haven is a bit far. Maybe South Haven instead?
