Default Can you identify this plant?

This is in our background (previous owner planted, I guess) and we're wondering what it is, and if we want to keep it.

Up here in the U.P. we have quite a few mountain ash, but when we went downstate last month to the Otterlake area, we saw lots of these trees on the side of the highways. They look like a mountain ash, but not quite. We were gonna "borrow" one to bring back up here! LOL I would guess it is a close relative.....

It is a shrub (I guess), and it stands about 5-6' tall. It's not a bushy shrub.

I looked up Mountain Ash and the leaves and berries are definitely similar, but I didn't see any white flowers on it that I recall, and it doesn't look the the picture of a mountain ash tree. Maybe I'll need to take some more pictures of it and the "trunk" area.

Kind of hard to tell from that picture, but it could be sumac.

I also think it's sumac, which grows wild.

Not sumac. Look at the enlarged picture. Those are berries. Sumac gets clumps of fuzzy little balls, not berries. Those clumps of fuzzy balls make a really nice tea.
