Default FSC cigarettes in Michigan

I learned about this yesterday, after wondering why lately my cigs haven't tasted or burned the same. This pisses me off, and may just be my incentive for quitting!! F--kin government....STAY OUT OF OUR BUSINESS!!!!!! Fire safe cigarette - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I'm as much of an anti-regulation type guy as you'll find... but let me get this straight... you're complaining about additives and chemicals in your cigarettes?

Mind asploded.

Best. forum. response. of the week.

I never heard of fire-safe cigarettes (that sounds so like an oxymoron) but I quite smoking years ago so don't pay attention. I'm all for incentives for people to quit though.

Yes...them adding ANOTHER un needed and unwanted chemical that is potentially, in itself, harmful/fatal. Ethylene-vinyl acetate - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Where does it say it's potentially fatal? Or even that harmful?

Why are you worried about this instead of all the other proven harmful chemicals in cigarettes? I mean really. I'm not an anti-smoking person by a long shot but it really does seem funny that you're mad about EVA and somehow not so worried about all the other bad stuff in smokes.

So how's about we put nasty additives into sugar drinks, candy, and fast food?

Yes, the complaint is about additives in cigarettes, additives that should not be there.

Only reason they added the FSC is because the property insurance industry fought and won to reduce claims from burnt homes. Unless of course you aspire to a more insideous reason like they added it so that people would quit...in which case why not add arsenic and hydrochloric acid instead?

The major difference would be, while the items you listed are bad for you. They are not SO bad for you already, that they are a controlled substance and you have to be over 18 to buy them, like cigarettes.

Oh... well diddly doo doo... the major ISSUE is that people still consume that product, whether you like it or not. But you comment says it's okay to screw with someone who does something that is bad for them.

So, how's about adding battery acid to all alcoholic beverages?

And how about throwing every bum onto the street that purchased a house they could not afford?

Ah, better yet, let die every person who needs health care but either did not purchase insurance or save money for their needs.

Silliness begets silliness.
