Post News, Michigan town to promise scholarships to all.

LANSING, Mich. - A tiny rural school district where nine out of 10 students come from needy families is offering high school graduates $5,000 a year for four years to fulfill their college dreams.

Baldwin Superintendent Randy Howes will hold a ceremony on Tuesday to launch the program to 25 students set to graduate next spring.

This is fascinating to me, since my grandfather was a school superintendent in Mason in the early part of the twentieth century. At the time, education was not taxpayer supported. He had to advertise the cost of tuition—that's right, folks—tuition for school.

This is wonderful for those students! Does anyone know the status of the Michigan Promise Scholarship?
