Young Women Wanting To Move To Royal Oak From Southfield
Hi guys. I need a little input. I want to move to Royal oak. I am from southfield michigan and I like it, buuuuuuuutt, many parts of it is starting to go down a little, espcially the part where I stay....a lot of people from Detroit is coming here off of the 9 mile region where Oakpark, Royal Oak, Detroit and Southfield connect.
I am 24 years old and a single woman. I work online as I own my own writing business and I write for a couple of other publishing firms, so the job thing won't be a problem. I am also bi-racial (black and white). I want to know if Royal Oak will be okay.
I mean, everyone loves it and they say there is a lot to do. Ive been a couple of times and want to live close to the downtown area. I know it is safe, but my question is, is it okay for a bi-racial young woman to live there? I'm asking because the stastics say that there is 94% white and like 2% black. Why are the percentages of blacks living in royal oak so low if it is suppuse to be such a "diverse" city? Especially with so many blacks looking for alternatives to the city of Detroit....
I'm guessing it only seems diverse because black people from other cities like to visit the downtown area, but they really don't live there...I need some input people. Help!! Thanks
