Default Fall color in NLP update

Just for anyone who would like to know... the fall colors are popping along the stretch of US 131 between Reed City and Cadillac! Lots of reds, oranges, yellows showing up. Hopefully there will be some rain-free days to enjoy them...

Just took these this morning in Mason County.

Emerson Lake, right by the very good Emerson Lake Inn restaurant. As you can see, we are getting decent, but still have a little ways to go to reach peak. Still a LOT of green trees out there. Probably a week or so away from peak yet right here.

This is a small side road named "Budzynski Road" and still at least 50% fully green. Best is yet to come, but it is coming quick now.

Wow, great pics - love that first one.
I was in TC Sunday, went to the scenic overlook over the Manistee near....Buckley? and it was still fairly green. Still gorgeous because some of the greens are lighter, going toward yellow, then others are full green, evergreens, some maples are full color. But peak, no not as of Sunday.

Just returned from the UP - Tahquamenon Falls/Paradise area and the colors there were at peak level or close to it, but there is still some green and many trees, are just blah. We got off the pavement and took some secondary roads to Brimely and the colors in the woods were awesome. We found this to be true all the way up I-75 from Pontiac to the bridge. Overall, not many vibrant colors as years in the past and there were areas north of West Branch that was completely green still. Not a colored tree for miles. Crazy. Gaylord to the bridge was decent, maybe 70-85%. Southern MI - Flint area and east along I-69 through the thumb, there was mostly green trees with a few bright trees mixed in. Very late to have all these green trees still. BTW, minimal color along M-119 (Tunnel of tree's). Mostly green there due to the proximity of Lake MI, I guess. Weird color pattern this year for sure.

I agree with you Junior, very odd colors this year. They seem very muted compared to the last few years. I think it is the crazy weather we had all Summer and Fall so far. Just not the right combination to make them POP this year. Still some pockets of nice color, but you really have to look for them, and there seems to be no rhyme or reason for one place being in full color and 1/2 mile down the road everything is still green.
