Default Anyone else not ready for the cold?

It sure seems like it came fast this year. Where did fall go? The thermometer on my truck said it was 29 on my way home from work last night. Holy crap. I find myself not ready for the cold this year. Not sure why. I used to feel so alive when the weather cooled off, now I don't want to deal with it. Anyone else feeling this way this year?

I always do this time of year. It's coming though. Local weather guy said the other week that this summer and fall had the same weather pattern seen before the 1977-1978 blizzards.

It could have been my imagination last winter , but I swear they cut back on salting the roads , and now we may be in for blizzards lol I don't remember winterizing the house this early , but it's done . I'm ready in that way , but now that I'm older I wished winter would go away lol

There aren't enough leaves on the ground to rake yet. Some years I was raking leaves in shorts and Tshirt. I don't think that will be the case this year. More like raking in my winter jacket and gloves!

Where did fall go? For that matter, were did summer go? I don't think we had summer this year. I'm not ready for winter, but them, I never am. Wish I could hibernate like the bears do!

Not ready for it either!!!

BUT, I will find a way to enjoy it somehow. I'm not going to be miserable for 5 months, that's for sure. Snow will be fun for the first month or so.

After returning home from a brief visit to FL, where they had record high 92 degree temps in October, it was refreshing to step out of the South Bend Airport and fill my lungs with some chilly midwestern air.

Come on Old Man Winter and give me everything you got, I'm ready.

A year ago, I would have been right there with you. However, after living in Arizona briefly earlier this year, all I can say is, bring on the snow! Seriously, I never realized how much the change of seasons meant to me or how much I hated extreme heat until I tasted AZ in the summer. Living there cured me of my hatred of Michigan winters, that's for sure. I think it would be depressing to live somewhere where the scenery never changed from one month to the next for any length of time, but it took actually going there for me to find that out.

JimmyInGreatLakes is on a distinguished road
We had a beautiful September up until about the 25th, same day I started re-doing my roof, then all heck has broken loose. Rain and cold most of the time since then. Finally finished the roof but not sure there will be enough heat to warm the tar and stick the shingles before winter. Shouldn't be a problem though unless a hurricane blows through. I'll take anything Michigan has to throw at us. I still love the state and it's four seasons. Wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
