Overall, I think this is more of a positive development than a negative one. With Selfridge's military mission expanded and a new intelligence cnter being added to the base, that's more people coming here to live that we DON'T have to provide jobs for, but who will be out nightclubbing, going to movies and eating in restaurants. The hotel and apartments can always come later, and honestly I don't know why building one means not building the other, unless land is at more of a premium out that way than I realized.

Yes, I think it's probably more positive. I am one of the ones coming out to work there and it has always been a goal of mine. Ever since the AF sent me out here (Albuquerque, NM) in 1985, I have been trying to get back ever since. And with the expansion of the mission it looks to be a good long time of employment for me and all the others who are coming out (maybe some locals too??).
