rami is on a distinguished road
Default Same as everyone else

I live in Macomb Township (or as most think of it, the "new money" part of town) and it borders Utica (along with some other cities). I grew up in Clinton Township which borders Sterling Heights and Macomb Township.

As most other posters said, Sterling Heights is of a great number of ethinic cultures. I lived in Sterling Heights for a year, and in the building I was in, of the 8 units, I was the only American. Macomb is very diverse with many cultures, whereas, Sterling Heights seems to be dominated by middle eastern cultures.

I have not lived in Utica, but I like Utica. I love the tree lined trees, the small town feel you get.

We do still have sod farms in Macomb Township and a little beyond. Though not as many as in years past, we do have them. (My DH owns a sod installation business and we buy all the sod from Macomb County sod farms).

If you come to Michigan after say the later part of 2007, drive about 2 miles East of Lakeside Mall, and you see the new outdoor mall they are building on Hall Road. From what I am told, it is suppose to be similar to the Somerset Collection (upscale shopping center in Troy) but meant for the East siders. It will be located where a staple golf course used to be. Our golf courses and fams, and funny as it sounds, a small airport have all been sold for developement, either for homes or strip malls.

And yes, winters get cold. I don't think they are that bad though. Each year it seems our winters get a little milder.
