The Official MI High School Football Thread...
How did your team do this year and if they're in the playoffs, how do you think they'll finish the season?
My teams, Rudyard and Brighton, are playing next weekend. Interestingly enough, they're both "Bulldogs" and wear the orange and black.
I predict a Rudyard win and a Brighton loss.
Birmingham Brother Rice always seems to be "in the mix" this time of year as well as TC St. Francis. I think both teams will go far in this cool tournament.
Do the High Schools still play at the Silverdome or did they move the HS Championships to Ford field?

Our local team didn't do well this year (Scottville Spartans) but they did play as hard as they could the entire game, each and every time. Their record was 3 - 6 in a pretty tough division really. Good news is that we beat our "rivals" the "Ludington Orioles" in the last game of the season.

Good timing on the question. They play at Ford Field and according to the Detroit News today, they just came to a deal to keep the championships at Ford Field for the next two years.

I live in Ohio and follow their HS football pretty thoroughly but I grew up in Michigan so I follow several teams there too.
I'm hoping Ann Arbor Pioneer can get revenge on Bedford in the first round, and that Muskegon and Inkster can pull off first round upsets as well.

For most of the HS students, the championship game is the last one that they will ever play. What a thrill it must be to play on the same field as the pros....hey....no Lions jokes pleez.....
Wonderin' if they get to use the same locker rooms......

Lake Linden-Hubbell is 9-0 and the only unbeaten team in the Upper Peninsula.

We have a rule, if our team loses by less than 20 points we have a party. Unfortunately we do not have a lot of parties. This year, they actually won the homecoming game. THe first time in 11 years!

Well, the first round is over.
Brighton was beaten by a field goal with 10 seconds left in the game at Holt. The Howell Highlanders (Brighton's county rivals) will play Holt next week as they held off Jackson. (Tony Dungy's old high school team)
Fowlerville was beaten by Majic Johnson's alma mater, Lansing Sexton.
Rudyard came away with a win, as well as TC St. Francis.
