Default Where should I stay? Romulus, Novi, or Livonia?

I need some advice. I'm coming up to Michigan for the Michigan-Ohio State game at the end of November and want to know which of these cities I should stay in. I get a discount on hotels and those are the only areas where my discount applies. Any advice? Romulus, Novi, or Livonia and why? Thanks.

I think easiest trip to stadium is from Romulus. CLose to airport.

Novi is nice but may be too far out and you are coming into Ann Arbor from the north side.

Ditto Livonia. You would be coming across I 96 to M 14 into the center of Ann Arbor.

From Romulus you are a straight shot down I 94 and can get on US 12 (west) in Ypsilanti and jump to Carpenter (north) up to Packard (west) to stadium.

Where ever you stay LEAVE EARLY...any route will be CROWDED....

Romulus is closest to the Big House. Don't worry about leaving early, sitting in traffic is part of the experience. Go Blue.

I concur on this. Romulus would be best whether you are flying or driving. It is closest to the airport and closest to the freeways heading out of state.
If you are in Livonia you can go to A2 either via M14 or down I275 to I94 or Michigan Ave.
Are you going to be doing any other things while in town? Livonia is more centrally located than the other two and nicer than Romulus.
I agree with above on Novi. It's nice but not the best geographically.

We will want to hit a couple of bars while we are up there. Does Romulus have any good ones? Or are there any in the area? We will have a car, so we have no problem driving to any surrounding areas if we need to.

Adult type bars? The doll house south on Middlebelt.. I think the Landing Strip is closed?

Wheat and Rye was good if it is still open.

Been too long snce we were at a "party" bar....

Romulus, Livonia or Novi are not party places. Romulus is your typical commercial airport area. LIvonia and Novi are suburban sprawl type communities. There are a couple of good bars in Novi, but the names escape me. I cannot think of any in Livonia. Romulus has some stripper bars and a couple of corner pubs in rural areas here and there.

You can go into Detroit and hang out at the Casinos or anywhere in Greek Town. Seldom Blues and Slows are pretty neat (slows has execellent smoked bar b que type food). There are quite a few bars/clubs in Detroit and Hamrammack. You can go over to Windsor for more casinos, stipper bars and clubs (bring your passport).

From Romulus (or even Livonia) you could go into Wyandotte along Jefferson and there are a few fun places there, but for the length of the drive, you may was well go into Ann Arbor, The same is true of Detroit unless you really want to go to a casino.

Your best bet is to hang out in Ann Arbor as much as possible and just sleep at your hotel. It may not be the best idea to go out wearing Ohio State clothing though, save that for the game (if you dare).
