So true. One of the best reasons to come on up to the UP. Bargans are still to be found , if you look for them, and we have lots of choices.

I had a Realtor tell me once ( in SW MI. ) that all worthwhile property on Lake MIchigan started at 1 million. Forget looking for any thing less. I wonder how things might stack up today , with the market so depressed. Could be that frontage on the big lake may be somthing to consider again, if , you can afford the taxes.

Scrolled thru the thread.....didn't see anything much about the "Sunrise Side."

I'd do Lake Huron.....Thunder Bay & north.

I'd even consider loopin' around and look at Cheboygan & possibly Atlanta.

Charlevoix is nice too.

Da U.P. ain't for everybody but Escanaba & Marquette can provide everything ya need. 'Cept for mild winters.....

I'm partial to the Rudyard/Brimley area too.

Rambling over.....anything north of M-10....OK?

I've backpacked that area. Gorgeous. Anyone that likes to get out in the boonies would love the High Country Pathway that goes through the Tomahawk flooding area.
