It is my belief that Rogers city has several good sides as well as bad.
I have very close and strong family ties to the city and hope to once again re-introduce the family name back into the city. I was never aware of any major kid problem except for the occasional trouble makers but what city dosent have that problem. I didn't even know that there were that many kids in the first place. but really. I always thought that rogers city would be a great place to live. it's calm, and quiet. one of the few cities around where you can pretty much call any of the locals a cousin. if you are from there of course. the negative side is that since the main source of income is from the limestone quarry,where most of the people work.the city really hasn't worked that hard at getting other companies in the city to employ the other people. and since the invent of bigger machines less people are needed to run the quarry. resulting in a mass leaving of the area over the last 100 years. however if someone would come along with the right company I think they might have a chance. personally since I was not born here I still feel that I am a part, just because I have been visiting this city from day 4. (there was a blizzard on the first 3 days). I also agree with most of the other posts about the positive things of the city although the fishing isn't what it used to be. hopefully it will turn around soon.

Regarding RogersCity, My roots are from and still are Rogers city and Hawks Mich. for the last 60 years. Granted the economy in this state is very bad right now,and Rogers city has a lot of vacant buildings in town where businesses have folded or moved out, there are a few newer and bigger ones moving in. In the summer time the boat harbor is always filled and the festivals and various indoor and outdoor activites are always booming. this city is a CLEAN and Quaint little town. Order a few copies of the local newspaper Presque Isle Advance and read all about what is going on.
