Haha... that's exactly what I've been doing -- I've been reading various threads there since I posted that. Looks to me like just about anything I may have to ask has already been answered ... about twenty different times! ( I will be hanging out over there though )

Yeah, there is a lot of info on our forum. And sometimes I do feel I am being asked the same questions over and over . . .

Glad you have found some help. We have been getting so many inquiries from MI residents, I wandered over here to MI forum to see what is being said about CLT. It is not utopia in CLT - we have our problems like other cities - especially w/ growth issues . . . but we do welcome newcomers.

I wish you the best of luck in your move. My husband and I are in the process of relocating to Virginia. I have heard that North and South Carolina are hiring teachers.

We are also moving out of Michigan as we have struggled for too long. I have smaller children myself and three okder kids on their own and extended family as well. I know that we will not be together as much as we are now, but we have to provide for our family as many do. I know many in the military that live all over and sometimes family can be who ever you care about. I know as we know it will be hard but many have done the same thing.

We will be sad to leave our friends and family - this is the only home that my kids and I have ever known. My husband traveled with the military before we were married. My kids are nervous, but anxious about the move. Any tips or suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks bunches!!

Whoa... seems like we lost the TOPIC!
Anyway! Yes! My husband has been in construction for 20 + yrs. Illegal immigrants are basically taking over! We cannot live under that. My husband decided to change careers and we're NORTH CAROLINA BOUND ourselves... hopefully in FALL.... Congrats to you! You sound as excited as I am!!! Wanted to move south all my life. NOT because I'm such a BABY! Hello! This is a great opportunity is the way I see it!
Bless you!

But, I am exhausted! Therefore, I will likely be moving to NC in about 6 weeks (as long as I get the job-I interviewed Friday). But, I am going towards Charlotte.
There are tons of teaching jobs state-wide in NC. Check teachers-teachers.com to start!
Georgia pays more than North Carolina.

A teacher with a masters degree and five years experience makes around $47,000 in Georgia, but will only garner around $40,000 in most of North Carolina.

Don't do it. We moved from MI to NC for 6 months last year and now we're back in MI. NC schools stink and the folks there are not as nice as you may think. Please find a job here and save yourself the bad experience of the south.
