Default What was your favorite duty station and why?

Just curious to see where and why? Mine had to be Navy Det. Pearl Harbor. I worked with some of the best sailors out there and when you are surrounded by a great crew it sets the ground work for a great tour.

Duck Commander, that's a tough one! Each of my assignments was a great one for different reasons... I served at several remote/small base assignments. I served at USAF bases that had wide reputation as "bad" assignments but thoroughly enjoyed them. I also noticed that there were people at some of the USAF's plum bases that didn't like them. So I guess attitude is 99% of the deal. Laughlin AFB, TX (despite being 150 miles W of San Antonio and right on the Mexican border) was where I got the most support to finish my CCAF degree (maybe being a pilot training base helped, since the main mission was training) My last assigment at Mountain Home AFB, ID was also considered by some to be an assignment to avoid. Wife and I decided it was a good choice and it was. I ended my career in a job I loved and some super folks to work with, so I went out the gate for the last time smiling!

Thanks for the reply, I always see folks talking about "your worst duty station" but no one ever talks about the good ones.
